Assess Your Situation

My Story:
My years of research and personal inquiry have attempted to answer an essential question: how do we make good choices?

After going through a career change myself, I began to explore this question professionally. I developed my research through faculty appointments at New York University, New York Medical College, Rutgers University, and the City University of New York.

Through my work, I was drawn to developing intuition, my own and others’. I became consultant and principal architect to the Princeton Review's Career Development project, which has included a seminar and book (Guide to Your Career), now in its fifth edition, and a series of guides (resume writing, internships, teaching abroad, etc.). I also developed a related program with Outward Bound, as people who feel at risk (whether changing careers or kayaking in a storm) are more likely to try new forms of information.

For careers, my experience and research show that the best decisions are made using two kinds of information: objective research and developed intuition. I’ve created this website to combine guided memories (see Guide to Your Career, Chapter 3) with informational interviewing, so you can develop a road map towards your future. I hope this site helps you along your chosen path.
